the new look

Ok, so the "new" blogger is all right. The template is impossible to understand now, widgets control all, but oh well. The picture to the left is too big, and I can't figure out how to un-all caps the various titles, but maybe someone can enlighten me.

The picture at the top is horribly cropped--it's actually one of my favourite pics I took while we were in Poland last summer. It's Gdansk by night, from a bridge. I had to balance my camera on the very edge of the cement side of the bridge and I was paranoid it was going to plunge into the water even though I remembered to put the wrist strap on (after a few failed shots).

I'd rather have the stuff on my blog stretching to either side of the screen, but I can't figure out how to make a picture of mine take up the whole title. Yet.

I found radmad again today. I like how she writes each post as a little poem.

The perfect stocking stuffer site

I'm so addicted to browsing Etsy. Admittedly, I'm mostly seeing things that would make good stocking stuffers for the girls and women in your life... things that I want. So I search, under the guise of looking for things for my mom. Heh.

These are a brilliant idea, perfect for a bookworm.

And I can't believe these are only $8!

I've always loved the look of mosaics.

And browsing this site has given me so much inspiration to be more creative. But starting is always the hardest part. I guess finding cheap materials would be a good first step.

I don't usually do this

... but a friend of mine told me about this site Free Rice today. Basically you answer vocabulary questions and each question you get right, the sponsors of the site send a certain amount of rice through the United Nations to help end world hunger. It's a very cool concept. Feel like you are contributing to charity/helping the hungry and improve your vocab at the same time--great for us wordy types! :)
