my poor LB

This morning LB woke before 8. That was odd, since she hadn't gone to sleep until 11:30 last night. I thought maybe she's feeling better, or maybe it was the sunshine filtering into her room. She waited patiently for her bottle, only crying when she saw it but I didn't give it to her because I'd made it too hot.

Soon after that, it became apparent that she wasn't her usual energetic self. She flopped down on the living room floor and just... lay there. Kids don't just lie down on the floor. But she did. She seemed to be resting. Her eyes were open. I laid down beside her and watched her, rubbed her back. No fever, just dozy.

By 9:30 this morning:

Then, she rolled:

My poor boo-boo:

She slept like this for about an hour and a half, and then woke up, cheerful. She didn't want any of the oatmeal I prepped her for breakfast, or anything to drink. She spent the rest of the morning and the early part of this afternoon alternating between playing and laying across her doll, or just flopping down on her back on the floor. I laid out a bunch of blankets and pillows and some of her stuffed animals in the living room since it's the brightest room in the apartment. I kept a window open so fresh air was coming in, and kept her new cd player playing the Polish kids song cds she got from her Babcia and Dziadek.

Half an hour ago I tried to get her to eat again--chicken noodle soup. As I was waiting for it to cook, I took her temperature. 36.9C or about 98.6F. She started coughing after that, and sounds like she has some congestion, which makes me nervous.

But, she did eat a fair amount of soup, and then she had about 1/3 of an apple. Yay! When she was done eating, she raised her arms and requested "up". I set her down on the floor and she made a beeline for her room. I followed her and looked at her, standing beside her crib. I lifted her up, and we looked out the window as we always do before she goes down for a nap or to sleep at night. Then she reached for her crib so I set her down in it...

and she's asleep.

It's a bummer she isn't feeling super well, but it is such a pleasure when they are this easy to be around.
