Neither here nor there

It must be nice to be married to someone with whom you share the same unconditional faith in a religion.

It must be nice to have unconditional faith in a religion--to be able to follow it completely in all aspects of one's life without any disagreement or regret.

I can't feel that for the religion I was raised in. I've tried. But when I get down to the heart of me, I know that I have too many paths I want to go down, too many thoughts I want to pursue... to many ideas that don't conform with that religion.

And so, I'm stuck in limbo--not in the religion, and never wholey outside of it.

But at least I have unconditional faith in me.

No matter how many wrong turns I'll take, how many people I fuck, how many ideas I have that I never share... at least it's all me.

Ungh... Unconditional faith in things such as religion and government are for people who don't want to think for themselves. Ask questions and remain skeptical of that which can't be proven and that which doesn't fit. I think I'd prefer to be married to someone who doesn't roll over for dogma. I think I'd prefer to be married to a person who can think for themselves and draw logical conclusions about the universe and society.

And your last sentence rocks with Truth.
