So the co-worker (I’ve been in need of comebacks for) and I went to lunch today.
We were talking about something, and I mentioned that Tom has a brother. She said she didn’t know that and I told her a little bit about him (he’s younger, owns a condo, works for ________) and she said “You are with the wrong brother!”
Grrrr.
But I kept things light, and instead of going off about how great Tom is in ways I admire, respect and love, I said, “Well, Tom’s brother isn’t the good-looking one.”
She said: “That depends on if you think Tom is hot.”
I said, lightly, “He is. I think he’s gorgeous. But that could be because I love him so much."
I then went on:
Phx: "One of my favourite features of him is how when he smiles, his face creases all the way up to his eyes. But I won’t say anymore, or you’ll puke."
F: "I love Puppet's* smile, when he really smiles, his eyes light up, and his laugh. He’s got this chuckle, but then he has a really deep laugh and when I make a remark and make him laugh till he about pisses himself, I’m like 'yes!'"
(So here I’m thinking “Gee this is great! We have something real in common—we both find a smile and a laugh attractive in men…)
Phx: "I’m the same way! I love to make Tom laugh. It feels so… rewarding, doesn’t it?"
F: "And I love how puppet always tells me how brilliant I am, how he believes I’m smarter than him. And he’s been tested and he’s border-line genius. So I’m like 'cool' he thinks I’m smarter than him."
Phx: weak smile "...."
*Puppet is a guy she has known for 6 years or so and they have casual sex every few months--it's been more than a year since they were together like that. He won't commit to her but she still equates him to something much more than he is.

Guh. People suck. =|
But I also agree that a guy's smile is one of the best things about him...
The mean response (which I needed a good 10-minutes to develop):
I like how puppets will say just about anything when you cram your hand up their ass.
Hrm. Doesn't make as much sense now that I've written it out.
