I don't usually ever post about this kind of stuff... but I received an email from my mom about the North American Union (9 min. video) and an email from my brother about Real ID. I'm finding it more and more difficult to form my own opinions and beliefs about this kind of thing--all I know is that everything the media tells us is closely monitored and censored, and probably to some degree altered. So I don't trust it for the truth. And I haven't found a source that I really believe is telling the truth, except for Kevin Sites. I mean, Michael Moore--truth or nutter?
Anyway, please watch that video and check out that web site. Disregard it if you like--but I figure having some inkling of what could be going on is better than none at all. As it is, this stuff is coming to light decades after the plan was formulated. Who's to say it's not a carefully planned leak, and anything we do at this point would be too little too late anyway? Sure we'd protest, but the wheels are already so far in motion; new US passports have chips in them, and that Florida family already volunteered to have a microchip implanted in their bodies. For safety they say. Well, it's not. It's all about power and control. And, true or not, it's f'n scary.
It's high time I read Nineteen Eighty-Four.

I haven't watched the video yet - but I did appreciate Ron Paul's response to the question about the possibility of a North American Union while watching the last debate...I'm so out of the loop (or maybe just not in the right loops) - but it was the first I'd heard of it.
Scary stuff.
(Oh, and, Michael Moore=Nutter, in my opinion...)

Funny thing, though. I think BC is developing it's own type of RealID. Did you hear that they're now developing a "more secure" version of a Driver's Lisence that can be used to go into the States now? I'm sorry but if my birth certificate and plain old drivers lisence isn't enough information for the officials for me to travel into the states, I am not sure I'll want to go. Are Canadian passports affected, too?
I think this whole thing is 100% crazy, and 100% believable.

Morgan: I hadn't heard about the drivers licenses! I don't think Cdn passports are affected YET... but who knows. I really need to find out more about all this... especially the Canadian take on it and how we might be stupidly following in these footsteps.
i loved 1984. i think that was the first ending of its kind i experienced and it has stuck with me through all the years between then and now. the line that struck me the most is "he wanted to take her, the rape her savegly, and then slit her throat at climax..."
it was the first time i had read anything like that. shocked me down.
