LB and I were starting our 4 hour drive to Gran & Grampa's house this
morning--we were on a tree-lined stretch of highway and I had the
radio tuned to a classic rock station, when the deejay intoned that it
was the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month and it
was time for a moment of silence to pay tribute to all the millions of
armed forces and civilians who had lost their lives in war, etc. The
radio then went silent, and as I listened to the silence, 6 planes in
formation arced out over the highway from my right. As they flew back
over the trees, the radio silence ended and Bryan Adams' "Remembrance
Day" filled the car.

I was driving to church with the kids in the back when I heard the identical announcement on a similar radio station, the kids just by coincidence happened to be quiet for about the first 15 seconds, but then, as kids tend to do as you will soon realize, started talking and noisemaking.
