I have yet to post my response to the whole to baptize or not to baptize deal. Now that LB has settled to a more predictable schedule of feedings and naps and chill time, I should have time to get to it. Plus, my mom and dad aren't staying with us, and I don't know if my mom will be staying with us anymore if she still can't go home. My dad came up on Wednesday and he and my mom drove to Kelowna to finish all the stuff to take possession of their new home. And my dad got to see it for the first time, a week after their offer was accepted. Today they have a second appointment with the American Consulate to see if my mom can now get the visa to return to the States. Their appointment should have just started... if they made it through the two security check-points and searches they have to go through to see the Consulate. If the Consulate is satisfied, then my mom will get her visa on Monday and be able to drive home with my dad. If not, then I guess my dad will be going back down to Oregon and my mom will be here for another spell. But she doesn't want to stay with me and Tomek anymore. She thinks 2 weeks was enough and saw that our relationship was getting strained. To put it mildly. But I feel crappy thinking of them spending money for her to sit alone in a hotel room when she could be here with me and Lily and Tomek.
Speaking of Tomek, all is well on that front again. We so rarely fight that when we do, neither of us can hold out for days on end without speaking. So after two loud conversations, we are all good again. Whew. I can't stand it when we are not speaking. It feels unnatural.

I'm so glad to hear that everything is back to normal. :)
and I really hope that your mom can get her visa... border crossing can be absolutely horrible.
I'm glad you worked everything out. I know you didn't ask, but, here is some old, paraphrased, cliche marriage advice for you & Tomek: "Never go to bed angry (or not speaking). You never know what's going to happen the next day."
Hopefully the consulate will understand the situation with your mom and let her back in to the states.
