Progress made in the last week:
-LB's sun light is up in her room
-Postcard-sized photos of flowers are framed and ready to be hung above her change table
-We have matching sheets on our bed, and a real, honest-to-goodness bottom sheet with elastic around the bottom
-I picked up the filing cabinet drawer frames from our storage unit, so now the three boxes of files can be unpacked and we can file away 2 month's worth of paper
-We took one my car full of stuff we don't need to Value Village (translation: we got rid of a bunch of crap for free without throwing it out)
-I made the first real meal I've made since LB was born (not including canned soup and toast): teriyaki chicken with sauteed veggies and rice
-We have home insurance
-Tonight Tom's dentist will sign as guarantor on his and LB's Canadian passport applications and maybe we can get them mailed off at long last
-Tons of photos of LB printed and now patiently waiting to be mailed all over the world to family and friends
-LB's passport photos are done and tucked safely in my wallet
-We purchased a 19" flat screen monitor and finally got rid of the bohemeth that took up 1/2 of the desk
Still to be done:
-Find the screws for LB's crib because she has outgrown her cradle
- a million other things
Ok, it turned into a bulleted list.
I meant for this to be a thoughtful post on how, for the first time since leaving Oregon, I'm starting to feel like I have a home. A real home that I can snuggle down into, where the furniture is ours, the carpet, the walls, the tub is all ours and we can fix it up how ever we like. A home that I can see slowly taking shape as the boxes diminish. A home where I can finally frame and hang photographs of my brother's amazing photos, photos of our family... our family. My family. This is home.

A real meal? Wow, I haven't done that in about 2 years! SUPER DUPER awesome job, Phx.
It sounds like everything is working out perfectly for you.
And, you two are way too gooey with your ascii kisses. Go get a room.
