So I thought the average amount of EI us folks going on mat leave get is around 55% of our regular income. Why the fuck am I only getting 32%? Is it because I had been getting other income that didn't have EI and CPP being deducted from it? Are they slamming me now because I was making more before? What the hell. The amount I'm getting per month is enough for me to pay for my car payment, my car insurance and my cell phone bill. That's it. I can't contribute to the mortgage, strata fees, groceries, gas for my car, renos for our new place, nothing.
Time to become a superhero. Just call me Tight-wad Mom.
Sigh.
But I did find out I'll be recieving a tax return of $2000+. So that's something.
