Today wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, despite the nausea and exhaustion. Tomek is now a proud godfather, and Konrad (his godson) is adorable.
I still haven't held him, still feel to shy, but just sitting next to him, touching his little feet, hands, stroking the top of his head finally opened up the dam in me that has been holding back feelings of actually wanting LB to arrive. I don't want to be pregnant for ever, but I know giving birth is going to totally change my life, my dynamics with so many people, and I find that all a bit intimidating. But then I watch Konrad smile and slowly fall asleep and he's just... perfect.
The priest that baptised him today told me I'm having a girl. He was going to tell me how he knew, but then would only say "I come from a family of 10. My sisters taught me some things".
Tomek celebrated his new-found godfatherhood with the 4 other Polish men who were at the baptism in true Polish fashion - with shooters. Konrad's dad set a wicked pace. They started off with a shot of moonshine, or Romanian vodka made from fruit, and then over the course of the next 2 1/2 hours I saw Tomek tip back 12 vodka shooters.
We came home at 5 because I was really tired, and Tomek fell asleep beside me.
And you know what? It's not possible to wake someone up when they have 13 shooters in them.

you know, before I read this post and saw the photo I kind of freaked out a little, thinking the bebe in the photo was yours!
(early monday morning syndrome, I think).
:)
:) I thought the pic might make some people think that--strange that Tomek is going becoming a godfather and a father in such a short time.
I AM still here, I just can't post at all from this computer anymore. I don't know why. It only recognizes Tomek.
12 vodka shots! Good god, I am a humble alcohol amature compaired to Tomek.
