So I finally found a new template for this blog--I got tired of using the generic blogger ones a long time ago, and now I'm ready to use someone else's! Ha ha.
So I downloaded the zipfile with all the template goodies... some graphics, a couple of html files that open as terms of usage and a couple Dreamweaver files. There is no straight template file.
What the heck do I do now?
Anyone who would like to try to help: I can send you the teensie-weensie zip file for you to look at...

Click on the I Power Blogger icon at the bottom, if you are already signed in to blogger, you'll be presented with a screen that lists your blogs with blogger, click on the name of the one you are updating.
This now brings you to a screen where you can see posting, settings, template and view blog. Click on template and that is the window into which you would paste the html.
I changed mine a little from the original but haven't bothered to do more - to me the content is more important than the presentation. I'm anxious to see what you've chosen, though...
Oh, erm... I just reread your message indicating it isn't a straightforward template file. Sorry - I'm not sure how to help you with this. Try sending a message to someone at blogger.com
I tried copying the source code from what I received to the blogger template, but I think it's going to take a lot more than that. :( One of my siblings is a computer whiz but to get help w/o exposing myself over here... don't know if I can do that.
I think I am going to copy you and get a new template, too. I am tired of the polka-dots, and it's doing something wonky lately and publishing my posts WAAAAAY down on the page for some reason. . Hope you don't mind. . .
of course i don't mind! i'll find the site i found mine at... i don't like www.blogskins.com... too much crap.
I've actually been working on creating my own as a .jpg, but I have NO idea how to turn that into a skin. . . :S Oh well. . . I just wasted an hour. . . Unless someone out there cares to enlighten me on the process. . .
Cool! If you check out that blogskins site there might be some help... or look in your template for "background" there is probably a colour code there right now, but you could put the pic, as long as it is formatted with the a href code... there are lots of html sites that could help, like htmlgoodies.com, I think.
Baby girl, all I can offer you is my moral support because I barely have enough computer knack to keep my blog going. Good luck!
