Vodka... one of my personal favs. All of my friends are total wusses about vodka. I'll offer to pay for a round of vodka shots and all I hear is, "I dunno... I'd take an Apple Jolly Rancher." or some other froufrou candy drink. No substitutions, goddamnit; vodka or nothing.
You're the type of friend I need to go clubbin' and pubbin' with.
I don't know any of the details, but if it is a truly final goodbye, I am very sorry for whatever has happened...

shenry- you're a pal. you really are. :) frou frou drinks can be a nice warm up, but nothing gets the heart racing like a nice shot... or four... of 40%. :)
And I have to say that Finlandia is swill compared to Absolut.
And, some advice for your friends, breathe OUT right before shooting, swallow, then breathe in and chase with something fruity, if needed.
If at home, (practicing), what makes it even easier is if you breathe in through a slice of fragrant bread right after shooting. I kid you not. Tom taught me that one. :D
Take it one step at a time, they'll get there. :)
And you never know, maybe Tom and I will be in your area sometime and you an' Silver can take us for a night on the town in the great D-spot. ;)
Phil-don't worry. it was just the loss of a bad day. Combo of work and car problems and stress because i NEED my car this weekend and next weekend. So i drank my bad day away. I'm not one to usually do that... but what the hell. it worked. :)

Mindy--Ooooh you brave girl! I had a tequila shot one too many times--once. :)
Shenry- Funny, I just mentioned my evening to a co-worker (we are fellow hungoveresses today) and said "four shooters of vodka" and she cut me off, saying "straight vodka?!" wimps.
I LOOOOVE tequila. I thought I overdid it one night when some strange boy bought me 6 shots of it to do in a row. I thought I was going to die, but I managed to pull through and I still love tequila to this day.
Vokda is great straight - Love the burn. But I don't think that anything is worse than white tequila (not gold) straight. Without lemon or salt. . .
I miss going out to the bar.
And two-stepping.
wimps, indeed. perhaps I should print out your list of vodka tips and hand them out to my wimpy friends.
